These individuals will be able to overcome the limitations of biology they were born with or that found their way into their lives. This approach gives hope that each and every individual can achieve optimal human happiness. He maintains that even today, many of us, , those who have 3D printed organs implanted in us, prostheses capable of superhuman performance or a wide variety of technology-based medical assistive devices, can already be considered trans-human. He asserts that in the not-too-distant future, the balance may shift, and people made up of implanted technological organs will outnumber those with biological organs.
In his capacity as a member of the Board of Directors of Kadmastem, Revel developed the Hippocrates Index to help technology companies, healthcare institutions and humanity as a whole determine the efficacy and benefit of available technologies and medical developments, while also considering a variety of ethical, moral and humane parameters.
Professor Revel is an avid supporter of the Trans-humanistic Convention, which he presents at the beginning of his book, as a “Ten Commandments” for physicians, scientists and those who develop and manufacture major groundbreaking technologies that may be implanted in our bodies in the future, and who wish to act in accordance with this convention.
